Been running ESXi for years but the Broadcom acquisition has me looking at alternatives. Proxmox seems to be the popular choice but I've also heard good things about XCP-ng. What's everyone running these days?

Proxmox is excellent and has been for years. The community is massive, documentation is great, and it's genuinely free (you only pay for support). I migrated from ESXi 8 months ago and haven't looked back.

XCP-ng is worth a look if you need enterprise features like live migration and high availability. It's based on XenServer which is proven technology.

Thanks both - leaning towards Proxmox given the community size. The Broadcom licensing changes were just too aggressive for a homelab budget.
